  • About Department

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is having an intake capacity of 60 students in B.Tech. course. 18 seats in M.Tech. (Power Electronics) and 30 seats in M.Tech. (Power Systems). The Department has qualified and experienced faculties. They use projectors and visual display units for delivering their lectures. The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering ensures that curriculum effectively contributes towards achieving the program outcomes. At the first year level, students are exposed to basic sciences .This helps the students to study the subjects like Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry and Engineering Mathematics which have further relevance in conceptualization of engineering designs and implementations. Through communication skills laboratory students are trained in English language which strengthens their communication skills. At the second year of the program, students study interdisciplinary subjects and get introduced to the fundamental electrical subjects and programming languages. The third year exposes the students to the core subjects. Students have to do their minor project work also. Students complete their Industrial Internships at the end of each session. In the final year, emphasis is laid on imparting industrial based knowledge and project work.
The projects are made by the students using the latest technology. To make the students more competent, the department organizes expert lectures, workshops, technical events, seminars, & industrial trips. The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering always ensures that the students are motivated for taking entrepreneurship initiatives by organizing various technical events. Department has setup a lab in collaboration with Mitsubishi, for which department has signed up MoU .
Students under go training of PLC-HMI and advanced drives technology. The MATLAB designing & Circuit Designing contests are organized to bring out the hidden talent of the students.
Every year, the department conducts a TECHFEST: Passion for creation” which has become a trend setter in several ways. The technical symposium is held in the month of April in which students from all over the nation present their technical skills on different emerging topics. Students participate in Robotics, Poster competition, Quiz, Extempore etc.
Every year students are selected in different national and multi national companies. many students have also been selected for higher studies through tough competitions.
Apart from these contests students are involved in designing quality projects as part of their curriculum. Workshopon Self defence: Nirbhaya

"Nirbhaya" A one day workshop on Self defence for girls has organized by EX Dept, Technocrats Institute & Technology. It was organized in collaboration with IIT Bombay. 5 Trainers were their and about 400 girls participated across the group.
The chief guest for inaugural function was Smt. Aruna Mohan Rao, Add. DGP, Crime againstWomen.
The Nirbhaya Initiative is launched by IIT-Bombay in association with MHRD with a vision to enable women/girls in self being dependent. The initiative aims to address the low self confidence of women in society, in general, due to safety concern in going/participating in various field/places at various point of time during day/night. The social Initiative aims at training them physically and mentally, equipping them with some basic techniques by self defence masters.
A self dependent women/girl, we believe, can contribute immensely to our progress as a society

Our institute organises no of workshops in collaboration with different IITs. Out of which Electrical & Electronics Department of Technocrats Institute of Technology, organized workshop on PLC and SCADA on 25th and 26th September.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) based automation is the outcome of that. PLCs are evolving and continue to be the best option for a variety of industrial automation applications. Greater programming flexibility and ease, scalability, more memory, smaller sizes, very high-speed (Gigabit) Ethernet, and built-in wireless are among evolving programmable logic controller features.

On the other hand SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition systems) automate power systems and used in many industries such as oil and gas, water, power, and many more. It has a centralized system that monitors and controls entire sites, ranging from an industrial plant to a complex of plants across the country. A SCADA system works by operating with signals that communicate via channels to provide the user with remote controls of any equipment in a given system.

While these systems simplify a given infrastructure, their components are quite complex. One of these components one of them is PLC. Communication is the absolute most essential link for a SCADA system to operate properly asnd PLCs fundamentally determines how successful a SCADA system can be.

Students of EX 5thsem of TIT  visited Omkareshwar power plant on 15th April 2017. Around 38 students visited the dam.

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Technocrats Group of Institutions has organized a National Level Competition “Project Mania”, on 12th and 13th, April 2018. Chief Guest Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Chairman of Private University Regulatory Commission, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Guest of Honour, Dr. N.K. Choubey Principal Scientist, MPCST, Bhopal, appreciated the efforts of students.

The primary goal of organizing national level competition was to bring out the hidden technological talent of students which includes innovative thoughts, skills and their systematic presentation  .
The technology innovators participating from across the country in this Project Mania created a platform to harvest the creativity and energy of our budding engineers. It will be useful to engage our youth directly and indirectly with nation building.

  • Projects accomplished

    1. IOT Based Password Locker

Whenever an intruder wants to open a door, he needs to provide a 4 digit password. If the password goes wrong, then the owner will be notified from anywhere in the world with the help of Internet of things (IOT). This can be done using ESP8266, ARDUINO, IFTTT and Pushover.

    2. Remote Sensing of Ambient Characteristics of Solar Panel

Ambient characteristics like temperature, humidity etc.can be measured using DHT11 which can be sent to webhooks using* *Arduino and esp8266. Web hooks can be further connected to google sheets using IOT platforms like IFTTT. This data can be monitored from google sheets from anywhere in the world.

    3. Controlling ROBO Vehicle using Google Assistant

In Google Assistant when voice commands are provided, then webhooks is triggered for IFTTT which creates action. This in turn calls Adofruit. IO which further calls Node MCU (ESP8266). These commands are used to run motors and finally to drive ROBO vehicle.

    4. Bluetooth and Sensor Based Home Automation Using App Interface.

In the home automation two modes were designed on a single PCB. The first mode was automatic mode where all the devices are controlled automatically with the help of sensors. The second mode is app based where user can switch to manual mechanism and can control the appliances using Bluetooth based app. This home automation system is helpful for elders and handicapped people. In this project the controller like AT89S52 was interfaced with light, temperature and infrared sensor. Infrared sensor is used to provide the exact count of persons present in a room. If the count is found equal to zero then appliances are turned off automatically. Temperature and light sensors automatically adjusts the fan and light requirements if anyone is present in a room. One can easily turn of the automatic mode through app and switch to app based controlling. The app was designed using MIT APP INVENTOR which sends signal to controller using Bluetooth communication. To receive signals from app, Bluetooth device HC-05 was interfaced to controller.

    5. Automatic Light Detecting Switch
